Backtweet your way to finding more

July 22nd, 2009 Posted by Missie at 2:38 pm

The world of twitter, tweeting, retweets and direct messages can be a overwhelming concept for any twitter user. But if your own or run a website or Blog, it’s a hard task to keep track of what’s being said and who’s tweeting link’s to your website.

Manually tracking what tweeps are retweeting or tweeting about your website is not the most ideal concept when your following or have a following of thousand of tweeps. Searching for keywords and #hastags on twitter, won’t also provide you with the linking information you need to measure your success on twitter. And with the popularity of using shortening URL services for tweets, twitter’s search won’t return reliable results as it can’t catch and retain those tweets that have a link to your website or blog. Using a twitter third party API such as BackTweet, can provide what twitter lacks - the ability to reliably search for your website or blogs links and shortened URL links on twitter.

using backtweets on twitter

BackTweets is one the many third party API’s out there that offer this service, but for us, it far exceeds the others. It’s simple to use and provides effective results that help you measure your success of spreading the word about your service and website on twitter. Finding links is as easy as entering the URL yo want to search for and BackTweets will automatically resolve shortened URLs and return a chronological list f tweets of the requested links.

BackTweets also provides an RSS feed so you can easily be notified automatically as new tweets appear. Using this tool on a regular basis will help you track and stay on top of whats being said about your website on twitter. It’s one of the most undervalued and underrated tools going.
