Twitter Search, the best twitter function yet.

Twitter search function is a hidden treasure chest, under utilised and under appreciated. It’s been hiding under a mountain of tweets, but now can be fully appreciated as it’s integrated into the sidebar of twitter profiles. Twitter search is an incredible tool that allows you to find virtually anything and anyone by adding the ability to search for key words, locations, phrases, and more. It provides real time results and allows users to search for real time tweets and conversations. Type in any word and you’re guaranteed to get real time results.
Twitter’s advanced search takes searching to the next level. It has some amazing aspects and allows users to find people within 10 kilometres or miles from any location, find updates to a certain person from a certain person or even updates posted within a specific time period.
Find People by name and networks
Twitter people search tool is a great and easy way to find your friends or anyone on Twitter. You can search for a first, last or twitter username to get as many results as possible.

The people search tool is located on the “Find People” link, in the top right navigational bar on Twitter. Select the ‘Find on Twitter’ tab to start searching. You can also check your contacts in address books from Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, MSN, and AOL. You can see who’s on twitter and chose wither or not to follow them.
Saved Searches
You can now save you Twitter search and is super helpful if you’re looking for something more than once. Up to 10 searches can be saved and just as easily removed. Clicking on your saved searches displays real time tweets. Incredible functionality!
Trending Topics
So just what are trending topics? #musicmonday seem familiar? Trending topics is a new feature of twitter’s search integration and lists the top 10 topics people are tweeting about all over the world. It’s a great way to jump in on a hot topic or breaking news around the world.
