Using Friendfeed for twitter

FriendFeed enables you to discover and discuss the interesting stuff your friends find on the web, which is also the primary twitter principal.
However, as there is such confusion between the two bases can FriendFeed turn twitter addicts into FriendFeed fanatics?

So if you’ve been hiding under a rock (like us) and you’re asking ‘just what is FriendFeed?’ we’ve got some great tips and info about how you can explore both realms and use them to your twitter advantage for both business and personal microblogging.
Share your Friendfeed actions with twitter
FriendFeed offers a way to keep your twitter network informed of what you’ve been up to on FriendFeed. Although it sounds like a path to social micro blogging over kill, sharing your thoughts and actions on both platforms can build your friends and followers and allow you to discover more in your niche.
So once you’ve joined up (if you already haven’t) you’ll need to check some settings to share your FriendFeed actions on twitter.
1. Select “Tools” from the navigation menu and click on the “Post to twitter” option.
2. Check the “post my FriendFeed entries on twitter” box, various customization options will appear. You can either opt to tweet all your FriendFeed behaviours, or select entries from specific services, tweet just your comments, the entries you post to rooms, or the public items you like.
Tweeterland tip: If you want to avoid your twitter friends getting redirected back to FriendFeed all the time, just select the “link to source” option. The links in your tweets will send clickers to the original source instead of the FriendFeed entry.
Using FriendFeed to reply from twitter
The ability to use FriendFeed to reply from twitter is one of the most underutilized features out there. It allows you to get your replies noticed, making you more visible to the world.
So when you’re carefully examining your stream and catch a great tweet just hit ‘comment’ and check the ‘Also send this comment as an @reply twitter’. This will give the retweet to the original poster the credibility they deserve. And, FriendFeed will also count your characters! Nice touch.
Find your twitter buddies

Got a real loyal following on twitter? FriendFeed has improved their ‘find a friend’ feature, which now makes it easier to find your twitter friends and describe to their feeds.
It takes the short cut off the long road for finding your friends and adding them. It’s as easy as navigating to Friends -> Find + Invite and select the import from twitter option.
So now you can enjoy the world of social microblogging that is twitter and FriendFeed. You’ll be able to manage both while increasing your friend and following base which is something most of us strive for.
